Paper Air Filter

Is there anything wrong with using the replacement "paper" air filters in my Onan Marquis generator? Made to fit but not the same as the original "fiber" filter. Is this one of those times where I need to spend the few bucks and get the original? I'm religious about oil and filter changes including air filters. Thanks for your thoughts.

Paper filters

Nothing at all wrong with a paper filter. I used them for years.
I now use a KN filter in my onan 12.5 KW generator, but only cause all I haveto do is clean it, and put it back in. Just easier for me.
