Park light stays on on dash

I have a 2000 38' Coachman on a Freightliner pusher chassis Cat 330 and Allison 6 spd. Recently the Park warning light stays on all the time and the warning buzzer for when the jacks are down etc. won't stop either. Coach runs and drives fine otherwise. Is there a separate switch that controls these functions? I would expect if the park light was on the unit would not shift to any other gear? Appreciate any thoughts.

Sounds like your nason switch

Order part # Nason SM-1C-66R/WP28

It's on the air brake parking plunger. It's common for those to fail.

If you replace it yourself, be sure you bleed all air off before taking switch off.

I think windsorbill's answer is correct for a monaco coach, but not for the Freightliner chassis. I had a 2000 Holiday Rambler on the Freightliner chassis, and that switch is on the frame rail, driver's side, just forward of the rear axle. You need "long arms" to change it. Call Freightliner for diagnostic help and correct part number ( 1 800 ftl help).

Fred is correct for a FL. Frame rail. FL will help you with the change out procedure. Must bleed all air from the brakes or the switch becomes a projectile.

The park brake chime is an intermittent chiming. The jacks down should be a steady high pitch alarm. I have the repair steps and other info for that from FL in Gaffney if you want them.
