The RV parking, according to the customer service reps, is located just north of the intersection of Grove and Depot Streets. In current Google maps there is a single RV parked there. There are lines with arrows painted on the pavement.

We just passed through Freeport on Friday 8/11 with our 34H and toad. Not a beach day so the streets and lots were full with many rvs in the lower lot. Came back through on Sunday morning and found a spot in the nearby Trift store lot.

About a mile or two south of Bean on the west side of RT 1 there is a Shaws market that had many rvs parked and lots of space. Some rigs were dropped and a big tail gate party was going on. While in the market I asked about parking there and they seemed to welcome it. Nice market and the atmosphere seemed to be "Hey, it's vacationland".

Still trying to become an RV'r soon. But I did drive a tractor/trailer (big rig, semi) for a few years and could always find a spot to ditch my 70 some foot of truck and trailer while on the road. You just have to be a flexible and little "creative". As a previous poster stated now with Maps and Google it is a lot easier to get the lay of the land.

If I remember correctly, which I always do, it was 6 miles. I'll Google it just to make sure.

Edited:
Darn! That F350 speedometer was off back then. It is 7.2 miles as the road turns.

The KOA is at 82 Big Sky Ln, Durham, ME.
