Parking Brake Will Not set

03 Itasca just purchased. The parking brake will not set. I have to hold down on the pedal to activate slides. Anyone have a exploded view of parts under dash. I am thinking it is a stuck cable or similar. Any help would be appreciated. Putter

If it has a release that you pull to release maybe the return spring is bad and therefore it is always in release position? If so, have you tried pushing the release in while setting the brake?

What chassis is your MH built on?
You should go to the control panel and add this information to your signature. It makes it much easier to answer your questions.
Welcome to the forum.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new Itasca! I know exactly nothing about that RV so can't help with that. Noticed you are kinda new on the forum and wanted to say hello!
Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thanks to all, later today I will try pushing in on the release while pushing the peddle. It might work? At some point I will need to take this thing apart and fix or replace. Never liked doing any work under a dash! Have a good day.

While you are under there it may be wise to either lube up the release cable and attachments...it may just be sticky/rusted. Should be able to get a new release cable/mechanism from the chassis mfg.

Tried everything. Looks like a spring project. Winter is setting in here. Put the cover on yesterday Still looking for a diagram or picture of what I am dealing with. Is this a workhorse, Winnebago or Chevy part?

Thanks again for all that have greeted and contributed to this discussion.
