Parking pads

What are advantages of parking on pads when not in use? I have sandy soil and have not seen any harm done to coach in 10 years. Am I missing something?

Nothing scientific about this but I try to keep all my tires separated from the ground to isolate them from moisture when parked for extended times. Over the years I have noticed that my tires that were in contact with the ground for extended times showed deterioration where in contact with the ground. So just for that reason try to keep something between my tires and the ground that does not transfer moisture.

I also have same question but how it pertains to parking on asphalt during winter storage. I've heard it's not good for the tires?

I also subscribe to keeping my tires off the ground when parked. Can't hurt and it only takes a few extra minutes to back over the 6 plastic blocks with carrying ropes I have for that purpose. I also put the tire covers over them to protect them from the sun if parked more than for an over night stay. I give them a good inspection when putting them on and taking them off....you can't be proactive enough IMHO when it comes to tire care.
