Thumbs up Passenger slide which will not retract:Winnie

A huge thanks to Randy and Kathy who, while in Salem,Oregon, saved us by sharing their frustrations and experience with a bedroom slide which would not retract. 8 discussions with Winnebago Service, 2 mobile rv repair guys, and $1,000 later with no success was all answered when they told us to check the BED MOTOR! It appears that our used RV had the slide retracted by the previous owners before they closed up the bed which in turn damaged part of the retraction device. This problem did not consistently occur. The bed, so it seems, has 2 independent systems: 1 to extend and 1 to retract. If the the retract "plunger" is off just a little, the slide will not retract. Randy came over, jiggled our bed, and the slide retracted easily. We are safely home now and have taken the coach to our dealer. NO ONE ELSE KNEW TO DO THIS ! Also, independent rv electronics providers swore that they sent us the correct solenoids that work the hydraulic systems for the slides ( and which were ruined by our first mobile repairman); they were not! We had to send them back. Only RV Corral of Eugene, Oregon had the correct ones and they have them in stock... Thanks again to our wonderful neighbors........
