Pedestals

Can a pedestal with a 50 amp outlet and a 30 amp outlet support full load on both simultaneously making 80 amps? Or can it support only 50 amps. I suspect the latter but not sure.

Typically not because the 30a is just connected to one side of the 50a feed.

ONLY 50 amps? 50 amp RV service is two legs of 50 amp power for a combined 100 amps, or 12,000 watts available in the RV. You could run at least 5 rooftop air conditioners with power to spare! 30 amps is 30 amps, 3,600 watts. [Moderator Edit] Most campgrounds allow 50 or 30, not both, but allow you to get away with an additional cord in the 15-20 amp outlet.

Mobile grow house. Now there's an idea. If titled in CO legal anywhere?

CO already has a very large grow house that is expanding again to another 5,000 sq ft (I think that's the number). And they are looking at getting into having franchises. By the way they are also a family run business with 5 generations working there plus others.

I was gonna post their web site but decided that might be against the rules here ......

Getting back on topic............, it would depend how the campground is wired; what size wire is run to the pedestal, distance, etc.

It depends on the park, the electrician who installed it, if the Pedistal is the ONLY one on that branch and if not how many are connected to the branch and where in the chain you are.. In sort many things most of which you can not possibly know.

One park I stay at, there are half a dozen boxes where I would feel confident saying "Yes it would" Other parks I stay at I'm fairly sure "No it won't" applies.

At that one park I watched them install those six boxes.. (I might add the other boxes in that park.. I'm not so sure) The manager used wire at least 2x what was called for by the max load you can put on the system.. I said to him "You don't want to redo this any time soon do you". He said NO... Had to re-do one of the lines... The next week. (Not an overload.. But rather an idiot with a length of REBAR and a hammer and an IQ resembling his shoe size).
