Pending offer

We have a deal on the table and accepted by dealer...
117,000 OUT THE DOOR - includes tax, tag, docstamps etc .... on a 2018 holiday rambler Vacationer 36D

Bunks. Outdoor kitchen.

This would be our first RV purchase. We didn’t plan to go new, but kinda fell in love with this one.

What are your thoughts? Good deal? I value other members opinions who have negotiated and traveled more than I thus far.

It would help to know the sticker price on the unit.
A quick look on RV Trader found 3 at about 120k and 1 at 140k.
The somewhat accepted discount around here is 25% off msrp (of course more is better), tax and title are added to that.
On the 120k units you really didn't get that great of a deal (sorry to put it bluntly). I see those at about 100k out the door (I'm figuring tax at 7%, which is what is here locally for me).
On the 140k unit you did good.

Sorry! That would help

MSRP is 182,600
Their online “sale price” was 115,995

We have a 7% tax rate

Kind of hard to say - but an internet search shows $117,000 is a decent price but if it includes sales tax, tags, etc it looks like it could be a very good price unless you live somewhere that doesn't charge sales tax. Sales tax would be thousands of dollars - so if that's included then it sounds like it's a good deal.

Holiday Rambler was purchased by REV Group during the recession and this and other models are just Fleetwood Bounders with HR badging. But you probably already know that.

UPDATED - I see that you posted more info while I was writing. Sales tax would be over $8000. So, You're paying something close to $107,000 for a 2018 which is probably a good price. Of course, after July 1st the 2019's usually are in the marketplace too.

Yeah, *I* would be OK with that, you basically got the dealer to cover tax and title, and then he got 1k for whatever 'extras' he likes to put on.
There is a point where it's fair for both, you get a reasonable price, he makes a reasonable profit. It seems to me you're likely at that point.

What city and state are you in?

I’ve been all over RVtrader too.
It’s so hard to know bc you have to add tax, tag, docstamps on top of the negotiated price

If you are happy with the unit then you got a great deal.

If I remember correctly, last year when we were in the market for our new RV (we went Winnebago) even though Holiday Ramblers were identical to Fleetwood Bounders the HR's were priced just a little bit lower than the equivilant Bounder and had a bit less standard features. (But I don't remember what was different.)

That will be the best point made in this thread!
If you like the RV, and you don't feel like you got screwed, then it is an excellent price!

Hope you did good!

But why are questions like this always asked after the fact?
