Tiffin has a great reputation for factory service at the place in Red Bay, AL. They go out of their way to keep all their customers happy, including those with rigs many years old.
And everbody we hear from who has a Phaeton loves them.

They are better quality than many others. I would not be at all afraid to buy a Tiffin coach. I saw photos of a Phaeton that was in a 65 mph head on collision with an SUV. The motorhome was of course severely damaged, but it was amazing how well it held together and neither driver nor passenger had more than minor injuries.

If it does not have independent front suspension, you may want to test drive a like coach with it and compare the difference. Otherwise you should be quite happy with a Phaeton. Like others have said Tiffin is good quality.

The Phaeton is a great choice for a first motorhome. While it's less money than an Allegro Bus, it's built to the same quality standards and is one of the best values out there. We first considered a 2003 38' Phaeton as our first DP, but went with the Allegro Bus instead for the extra amenities, decor, and 400 HP. We've liked it so much we are probably ordering a 2007 42" Bus today. You'll do good with a Phaeton.
The Phaeton does not have IFS (neither did the Allegro Bus in 2004) but I think you'll find that it's a well balanced coach and rides pretty good. Drive it and see.
