Phaeton or Ventana

Hello all,

I am a new member and looking forward to purchasing my first RV. I will be spending 3-4 weeks at a time traveling, and most of that will be "on the road" visiting many different sites for both business and pleasure. I will be towing a car and have currently narrowed my choices down to a Tiffin Phaeton 40 footer or a Newmar Ventana 40 footer. I like the 2014 Ventana with the 400 HP, "Comfort Drive", full wall slide, etc. but am concerned about the service and support from Newmar due to some posts I have read. Tiffin seems to have good support after the sale AND after the expiration of the warranty. Both have layouts that appeal to me.

Any thoughts to share?

Thanks,

Greg

You can't go wrong either way. Both are solid coaches and solid manufacturers. I have read of Tiffin doing things to satisfy owners that go above and beyond. I haven't had any experience dealing with Newmar directly, except to ask the occasional question concerning part numbers, electrical schematics, etc. They have always been responsive.

Good luck.

Only point I would add is that you may want to consider used. I recently purchased my American Revolution used, and couldn't be happier. Unless there is something that only brand new has, you would be suprised how much you can save buying used.

One interesting point I heard recently was that Tiffin has an advantage of location and work being scheduled. Who wants to be in northern Indiana in January?

Both are good choices and there are satisfied and dissatisfied owners of both.

Newmar does have Comfort Drive and Newmar will let you make many custom changes.

Tough choice, maybe now would be the time to see who will sweet'n the deal better than the other!

We almost got the Phaeton 2012 42qbh but bought our 12 AC Revolution instead. If you like new buy new, we did have to pay more for ours over the Phaeton but we loved the Tiffin product.
My vote would be for the Phaeton.
