Phone Jack on the roof?

I was up on the roof today to put one of those Cyclone vents on top of the existing vent.

My first clue should have been that the top of this round vent looked unlike the others I've had, it has a shiny almost mirror finish. Anyways I cut away some of the dicor and removed the 3 screws.

When I lifted it off I found no pipe but instead a grey telephone wire coming from within the coach up to the underside of the top of this vent where it plugged into a conventional telephone jack.

Ok.....What the heck is it?

Did someone add a second AC to your coach?

Nope it came with two...this 'vent' I'm referring to is about the same size as a normal black water tank vent maybe 2.5" diameter.

Odd place for a connection, but I susspect if you unplugged it, one of your AC's would no longer work.

I suspect it's the wind sensor for an automatic patio awning.

Who would have thunk.....I just went through owners binder but never went right into the awning docs as I had no idea it had anything to do with that.

Satellite Dome feed.. For a Rooftop Sat Antenna.. You should find a RG-6 coax in there too if they wired it right.. RG-59 if they did not.. odds are they did not.

Fred already got it....it's the wind sensor for the awning. My Winegard Travel'r is further forward and in the center.
