I have Allied Insurance and the rider for glass is $24 a year. Just had to replace front windshield. My insurance covered the replacement 100%. They would not tell me the price of windshield but the labor was $750.

Allied is a division of nationwide insurance?

I have progressive insurance and they replace both of my front windshields. Right side had cracks in the corner and the left side had crack up the middle from the support tab at the base. My coverage was 0 deductible so they paid for the entire job. I had to pay $150 for the cleaning of the pinch weld frame rust. It took only 10 minutes on the phone with Progressive and about the same with the glass supplier. They selected the installing company which did an excellent job in about 5 hours of work.

They charged the glass company $500 for install. not sure what the glass cost Progressive. It pays to have a $0 deductible. I am sure no insurance would have cost me at least $1300 or more and $500 deductible would have been hard at this time.

I find the progressive insurance company to be top rate.
