We own an '08 Itasca and have just picked up a trailer for it as we plan on doing exactly what you are doing. That is, ride to some destination in the MH and then explore the area on our bike. The beauty of this is, if it's pouring out, no big deal, as we are inside the MH. When we get to our destination and it's still pouring, again no big deal we simply will defer riding . But, if it isn't raining out then I can't think of a better way to check out the new surroundings that on the bike!
Good luck to you both and ride safe!
Horizonchase...I have a 1996 Road King..the black one all done up...owned it since new...will hit 100,000 miles on it this year...Have done the Iron Butt ride in 2002...York to Orlando...one day...then rest one day and all the way back...was a killer...my brother Tom has 12 1000 mile days under him...

We pull a small trailer behind the Harley from time to time with large group rides...but the RV for us is the next step in our lives...I bought a real nice one owner unit ...only one before was a 1989 Coachman class C we used for 10 year while I drag raced my Top Gas Bike in NHRA and IHRA...gave up racing 10 years ago...so now another change..but this seem so much bigger than that small 24 ft unit ...
