Hey everyone. First post here.

I'm wondering if it's ok to plug my MH into my small genny. 50 amp to 30 amp and 30 amp to 15 amp dogbones. I wouldn't be using AC or microwave. I think all that I would be using would be is some 12v DC LED's coach lights the fridge and converter for the batteries. So I guess the thing my head where I'm not sure is the converter. It's a Progressive Dynamics PD9160A. Will this still charge batteries and work properly with the Honda?
I also have a roof mounted small solar charger that is hooked up as well.
And a 800 watt inverter that is used only for a tv and device charger.

Hopefully it will be seamless and work fine. Let me know if you think I will have any issues or if there is more information needed to answer properly.

I'm not going to hook it up until I'm comfortable that I won't damage anything.

No different than "dogboning" down to a 15 amp house circuit. I do it all the time. I don't run any heavy draw items... just lights and tvs.

Run my eu2000 all the time except when use microwave or a/c.

We've hooked our H2000 up a few times with no problems. Even ran the microwave. But mostly used it to charge batteries. They are quiet unless you put a load on them then the decibels go up.

So no issues with the 60 amp converter?

Short answer: YES.

Just do not use electric water heater or Air Conditioners. Microwave may also be a problem.

Now: Someone is sure to ask why.. (I mean you likely have over 50,000 watts of Onan in that house) Simple..

That Onan burns as much fuel in an hour, as the Honda does all day.

That 60 amp converter is 60 amp at 12vdc and only for a short time. In 110 volt terms that's about 6 amps - or 600 watts in very rough calculations.

Do a non issue even with dead batteries

and that is why we bring it along when we know we're going to be boon docking. Of course I have to bring a can of gas with me

Thanks for the info everyone. At 7.5 mpg on the MH a gallon or so a day on the Honda will be refreshing

I connect my coach mine when ever we boondock. However, if you have and Progressive EMS-HW50C as I do you'll most likely get and open neutral failure. From what I have found most if not all small portables do not bond the neutral wire. I have to by pass the EMS while connected to the portable generator.
