We often get the question:
What things do you consider most important when shopping a MH?

Length? Power? Gas? Diesel? Name Brand? Chassis? Coach Body? Price? New vs Used? Age?

Please provide a rating for what you consider to be the most important to the least when shopping for a MH.

Please feel free to write in important MH shopping considerations missed in this poll.

First thing I always have done is to see if it's in my price range first, then manufacture/ model, then length and slides.

for me it has a motor and a matteress 2 things i prefer unused
length mattered because my parking is limited as we already have more cars than garage space (end up storing my antique car in my moms basement). price was only a consideration because we dont spend what we dont have
. the real deal maker for us was slides and full paint 2 items that we did not have on our 2009 holiday rambler

Brand name and model. If I know that, I know a lot of the other options. If the unit for sale is not on my list I don't bother looking because it will not have the quality I am looking for.

I have had enough RVs to know that the floorplan is where I start. If the quality isn't there then I would walk away. I love the floorplan I have now, but need more room. Other considerations are: if I get what I want in the next MH it will not fit in my driveway or current storage and I have just added several items to my MH that could not be moved to a new unit. Besides that, the one I have is paid for so I guess I will keep it for a while.

The most important thing for us full timers is the CCC. We need to know how much cargo carrying capacity the coach has. We want 3500 pounds or more.

Does it fit my lifestyle and how we'll be using it ?

I've owned the current MH for 3 yrs now and it has worked well for what we were doing. But, how we will be using a MH seems to be changing (going from long stretches living in it, to more weekends, weeks or shorter trips)

What I have now does not fit that bill so I am considering downsizing.

So shopping now is different that 4 yrs ago.
