This is what we use. 110vac or 12vdc. Inexpensive, small and light weight:

Shop Kobalt 120-PSI 120-Volt Horizontal Electric Air Compressor at Lowes.com

I keep our 22.5 tires at 85 psi with this, per load table. This inflator can go higher. You set the desired psi and it shuts off when it reaches the target. I also use on our bicycles.

I agree. The 12V portable compressors can take forever. Had a good one one for my B but still took forever. Sold it with it. My 110 with a tank is the way to go if you have the space for it. If I'm not plugged in I just fire up the generator.

lowes has a 150psi 1.5hp 3gal kobalt compact compressor. $139, decent.

Harbor Freight is a 6 gallon, 150PSI for $99. Considering the amount of use, I think it will be fine.
