Portable Air Compressors for Tires

Hello,
I was just wondering what type of portable air compressor people recommend to carry on board for keeping tires properly inflated.
Curious on Brand, Model, etc for convenience.
Thanks
Mike

Due to the size of my tires I got the Viair 450 RV kit. Pumps my front 365/70 tires to 125 psi. Takes a while but the 450 is rated as continuous use although you do have to let it cool down.

I got this one:

From here:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-6...50HB/303379052

Says it's 150 psi. It'll do 130 psi before it starts slowing down and struggling. I can do my Class C tires, plus run small tools, plus blow out plumbing, and with an airgun it gets campfires going like nobody's business!

Porter-Cable Pancake style. 150 pounds max. One connector is tank pressure and the other is adjustable. Works well. I fill my tires to 107 pounds. I have one in my shop and another one in the motor home. Usually can find them on sale for $99.

Hi Mike! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

If you want the best I would recommend the VIAIR 450-RV. It's a little pricey but worth the money!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Just went through researching this very question and one of these ended up under the Christmas Tree. Kinda loud but it's fairly compact and will go to 150lbs.

I'm not normally a big fan of Harbor Freight, but if your ok with a 110 volt unit this is a very good choice. Extremely quiet and good volume of air for a small light weight compressor. They have one size larger and one smaller but this one does a great job for me at price of $169.99

Thing to keep in mind ......yes a lot of Home Depot type of units will go to 150 lbs but they don't have the HP to fill up a 22 inch tire to let's say 110 lbs . It mite take 1/2 hr to get the tire up to that pressure....if the motor does not burn up first .
That's why you pay $400.00 for a good RV unit .
I can raise my pressure 10 lbs in minutes

I bought our Craftsman 1.5 air compressor back in 2011 because the pancake was a little heavy. We still have it on board and it doesn't take that long to bring up our 22.5s to proper pressure. If it ever goes 'toes up', I'll replace it with this exact copy...

The Viair. Compact, relatively light weight, quiet, and runs off 12v battery.
