Question Power ??

'02 Fleetwood Discovery....Problem or question?? Shore power unplugged. The Main battery switch is OFF. The Aux Battery switch is off....I have a light on switch in the bathroom area that operates. Seems to be the only one working at this point. Also, my main concern, the outlet over the driver where the TV and DVD is pluggened in is hot. Is this normal??? What powers the tv if all is OFF??

The inverter is not shutting off. You must unplugged both cables running into the inverter that look like phone cables and this will reset the inverter so it can shut down and (store). The inverter is still running and will drain your coach batteries.

OK...Reset the inverter...ME being a newbi to RV's and the book says nothing of my dilemma...I reset the inverter, charged the batteries, check and made sure that the engine alternator charges the batteries, the coach generator charges the batteries and the shoreline charges the batteries. All is well. Anyway, I FINALLY figures out that you must turn off the invert switch in the bedroom to turn off everything in the coach that's 110/120volt. So now I've turned everything off and unplugged the coach. We need to make sure the starting batteries keep a charge. But I'm sure I got this figured. The manuals tell me nothing....Don't figure. But it's good to learn all this before our trip this summer...
Thanks GregOk80....

All modern cars, trucks, buses, and yes, motor homes, have parasitical draws on the starting batteries like clock, radio presets, and finally all power train control modules to keep memory intact. As such, you need to charge the chassis ( starting battery) battery from time to time. You can do this easily with a solar charger or you can run an extension cord to a battery tender dedicated to tour chassis battery but, if you are going to run an extension cord, why not just plug your whole coach in.
Solar is easy, quiet, and no more pesky extension cords or, in my case, huge 4 wire 6 gauge wire cables powering the whole coach.

You said a light on in the bathroom.. Is this the normal bathroom light or is this a monitor panel of some kind?

As for the outlet for the TV...... Do you perhaps have TWO inverters,,, One (Factory installed) that powers teh TV and a 2nd (After market or optional factory) for things like the microwave?
