Several models I am looking at has the power driver seat as an option. Is this something that is absolutely necessary? I will be the primary driver and in my vehicles I hardly ever adjust the seat once it is adjusted.

I don't see the need for it. Maybe cause I don't have it

Not necessary just easier to move the seat with a push of the button.

wouldn/t be without mine. some things you can't do with a manual seat.

My Fleetwood Bounder 33U came with a manual seat, there is no up/down adjustment, just back/forth, and tilt back. I love to adjust my seat when I have hours on the road. One of the things I would do-over...get the six-way power seat.

I built a cabinet quality footrest for the left side, so that I could move my left leg around while driving to take the stress off of body parts.

Yes on the power-seat...IMO.

I've had power seats in all my vehicles since 1988 but I honestly do not miss it in my Bounder. You sit differently in an RV then you do in a car, and at least for me, I am doing fine without it.

my off the top of my head opinion - it is totally unnecessary. But if you have it, it is essential that it works.

Try sitting in the drivers seat on one of the models your considering before you make a decision. In our case it was a necessity. Both my wife and I were unable to see all the instruments with the manual seat. For me the steering wheel blocked the directional lights and a part of the speedometer. With the power seat I can raise it high enough that all the gauges are now visible.

It's nice but not a deal breaker. However, the power footrest on the passenger side is priceless!

Personal choice. I don't have one, but I do all the driving. The DW has a power seat.
Nice to have if it comes with the MH but for me I would not pay extra to have one installed. My views only.

Try to drive one of each if possible. We have had both and do like the power seat but it is a "set it and forget it" kind of thing if there is only one driver. If the non-power seat is comfortable to you then it won't be a deal breaker.

Totally worth it on ours. I too am the only driver but I do move the seat depending on what the driving needs are at the moment. For example, when out in the middle of nowhere I tend to have a more laid back seating position as opposed to when I'm pulling a trailer through a large metropolitan area during rush hour. Also driving is not the only function of the driver's seat. The seat must be moved up to allow clearance for the front driver slide to move in/out. Plus I ALWAYS swivel both of the seats 180 degrees when we're parked. Totally opens up the whole RV and provides a more seating for friends.
