Power Gear Leveling question

All,

(tried to edit title should read "Power Gear")

I just took delivery on my new Fleetwood Terra 34B. I have a question about using the leveling gear. When I got home with the unit I tried it out and everything worked fine. I then brought it to the campground to a site that was not very level. The jacks extend but then goes into what I believe to be an error mode. The right and rear lights flash while the unit beeps. The right rear is also the lowest point on the ground. I have read other posts where people who have experienced similar problems then could not retract the jacks, but this is not the problem that I have as I am able to retract them. So that being said I have a few questions:

1. Being that the right rear is the lowest point could the error be that the jack is fully extended and the unit is still not level?

2. How far should the jacks extend?

3. When fully retract, how far up should they be? When I first got the unit they seemed to be about 2 inches extended.

I have tried placing blocks of wood under the jack but that has not helped.

I appreciate and and all replies

Regards

Mark

Mark, when retracting the jacks, if they are the electric style, you should hear them ratchet all the way up. Let us know for sure if they are electric or hydraulic. And discribe or post a photo of the touch pad. Thank you.

I have hydraulic ones on my new coach. I don't know if they beep, but I have seen the center lamp blink along with one or more of the arrow lamps. In my case, it was telling me that the jacks were fully extended and the coach was not level. I put blocks under the low point (twice) before it was able to level the coach.

powergear

For those with Powergear levelers they have a website with manuals, tip sheets and product info. I used their tip sheet to walk me through re-zeroing the controler through the OIP (touch pad). Had a problem with the coach being extreemly high when level with front wheels off the ground at sites with ninimal slope. Problem solved. Go to www.powergearus.com lots of information and DIY tip sheets for all of their products.

I believe that he has the Power Gear Levelers. As one of the other posters stated the lights that are blinking and beeping are telling you that the jacks are fully extended and you are not level. The center light should light up green and will say "Power Gear" when you are completely level. When we travel to unlevel areas we have the plastic Lynx Levellers and we place them below the jack that is at the lowest point. It does usually require some fidgiting with them to get it to level. Just make sure that you don't bring your wheels off the ground with the blocking.

All,

Thanks for the replies! Peeta was right, the problem was that the site was too sloped and the unit could not get level with the right rear jack fully extended. I talked to the campground owner and he brought in a load of gravel and fill and leveled the site for us.

Thanks again for the help!

Regards

Mark
