Power issues

Have A 2004 Fleetwood Southwind 36e. Recenlty changed out house and chasis batteries. 1) I now am not getting any readings from the tank level / battery voltage monitor. 2) the power door step which had been in the out position ( as we live in the coach full time ) full time - is now in the cloased position and does not want to move. As for the step - the power switch inside the door has an idicator light which does not light up.

I am thinking that I have afuse issue ( most likely under the hood ) but I am not an electrician so I don't want to jump into anything crazy until I have a better feel for things.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Steve

If you have hooked the new batteries up right! And you shorted the system in the install, you might try to flip the main switches above the entry door..

If they worked before the change and stopped right after, you need to check that process first! Are you sure the posts and connectors are clean and in complete contact? Was there additional wires connected at the posts that was forgotten? Are you sure you have the Pos+ and Neg- posts connected properly? I understand these are very basic questions but sometimes that is exactly what was overlooked.

Thanks for the repsonses. I will double check them. I was really surprised at how "noncorrosive" the terminlas were considering the age of the coach. Just frustrating at this point.

Take a good look around the chassis batteries for a wire that slipped out of sight when changing batteries. There are usually multiple wires connected to the chassis positive post. It is easy to lose one during the battery swap.
