Power lift for under bed storage area

My slide motor is under the bed....the board/cover still comes off.

Our used RV came with a gas strut type system, works very well, can lift the bed with one hand. The bed platform is hinged about 24" from the wall, also there is a clip that latches the bed to make sure that it does not raise on its own. I assumed that this was factory install by Winnebago, but perhaps not.

You still will need a release of sorts because if one actuator fails, the other will not lift the cover to get to it for repairs unless the failed one can be pulled open...normally they only move with power.

But when u have a king bed with a sleep number mattress,foam cover and bed clothes etc its heavy lifting with the stock gas struts so I was going to go power lift but after seeing the twin 150lb gas strut bed lift kit for only 52.00 I just may go that way . I believe what your discribing is a whole lot different than what iam talking
