Power seat

Just thought I would mention a little incident that happened to me while working on my coach.
I was laying between the powered driver seat and the dash, checking out some wiring and it was a little tight. Well, my back hit the seat switch and moved the seat forward enough to pin me so I couldn't move. Had my phone in my pocket but, couldn't reach it. I knew my wife would not come and check on me as I am out side most of the day by myself.
Anyway, after calming down and laying there for awhile I managed to twist enough to wiggle out.
Then I discovered that the pressure on the switches had broken them. Ordered a new switch.
Lesson learned. Disconnect the seat power when working in front of it.

My seat will not work unless the Ignition Key is in the run position. You might consider rewiring the seat to that configuration as a safety matter.

I just had to change out the control switch on the passenger side seat in my coach, my wife had to ride all the way home for 500 miles on our last trip with the seat all the way forward as the connection in the switch to slide back had failed. I am still not sure why she slid it forward to begin with.

power seat

For those who are interested. I found the new switch for my power seat on EBAY for $6.00 plus $6.70 for shipping. It was a GM part for a 90's era car. The same switch from NAPA was $112.00 and from Advance auto was $86.00.
Took a few minute's to install and is working perfectly. Switch was New OEM.
