Just quoted Bridgestone, $635, $41 fet, $40 mount, $33 spin balance, Tacoma WA. $749 + sales tax, approx $6530 for 8 tires. How does this compare with your price?

I went through the FMCA and paid $4200 + $260 to dis-and mount and balance the front recondition valve stems in Portland,Or for 6 (no sales tax) 295/80R22.5 Michelin

I paid about $4600.00 for Michelns two years ago using the Monaco discount program. I believe the FMCA has similar discounts.

Hi All..
When I am ready for rubber again it won't be Michelin's! See the other messages regarding the "Cracking" of Michelin tires.. They say Cosmetic.. I say that's fine on someone else's tires.. These damned things cost so much they should begin to deteriorate in 3 years.. My 97 Eagle which I just sold had Goodyear's that were 6 years old and not a sign of any kind of cracks.. Just Sayin!

I can go to Oregon if I want to risk the 2 1/2 hour drive on 8 year old tires. I could use secondary roads to reduce speed but it would take much longer. Sill working on custom built wheel liners to prevent blow out damage that the manufacturer did not care about. Any other price comparisons?

I called my local Les Schwab dealer to get prices yesterday. He asked me if I wanted Michelins or Firestones. I told him I had Firestones on it now and I had no complaints. He said good, Michelin side walls crack much sooner anyway. I have six 275/70R 22.5 and he quoted me $3439 out the door for all six. I was thinking I might go up to my daughter's house in the Portland Oregon area and get them up there and save the California sales tax.

Just my thought but I think you'd pay more in fuel for a round trip drive to Portland than the sales tax you'd pay on the tires in Redding, CA. But the value of seeing your daughter might be worth the difference or even priceless.

We usually go up there and spend a week or two anyway. The tires I have are only 5 years old so I can wait until I make a trip up there to put the new ones on. They live in Sandy on 10 acres and have hookups and a view of Mount Hood. Just like camping in a campground.

FWIW:

Last fall I had Michelin's replaced thru FMCA. I made all arrangements and started to go the 45 miles to fresno for replacement and checked tire pressure on old tires, 19,000 miles at 7 years, and found an inside dual flat. Had repair shop come out and they said it was "cheap" CW extenders that come loose according to him, happens all the time.

Michelin dealer put on TRUCK EXTENDERS, claiming that my old type where an on going problem on RV's......

I just put Bridgestone's on my coach. My cost was less than your qoute, but dealer also allowed me $50.00 per tire for my old ones. I would shop for a better price.
