Problem with dometic fridge 1402 too warm

We have a regular thermometer to check our fridge temps. How cold should the refrigerator section be in this refrigerator. Our thermometer shows the safe zone between 40 and 50, I know this thermometer is not the greatest but it is some way to find out.

Technically speaking the "Danger Zone" for potentially hazardous foods is an internal temperature of 41F-140F. So you ambient should remain below about 37.

Placing a small fan in the fridge will help circulate air and keep the ambient temperature cooler.

You should get close to 33 degrees in the refer. Is your refer mounted in a slide? If so it probably has a fan or two that should be running via a snap thermostat device. If it has two fans one could be bad. If both are not running your temps will run around 40.

Make sure your drain tube is not damaged as that will allow warm air to enter the refer.

If the freezer is cold and the fridge is warming up then there is a good chance that your freezer drain channel is iced up and needs to be defrosted.

WWW.smartrvproducts.com has a great product that truly works and is easy for the DIY to install. It's not cheap but worth the money.
