Propane alarm

Hi all another question, We were cleaning the coach with cleaners (of course duh LOL) Had the water pump on and GEN but no heat. Had the propane alarm go off shut everything off closed the propane tank. Finally got it off. Wasn't sure if cleaning stuff could have set it off. Turned stuff back on including propane tank and stuff running again and it never came on again and we were in it for 2 or 3 more hours???? Any ideas.

Some cleaners and many arosol sprays can set off the alarm. You are probably ok since you have the tank back on and there is no alarm. LP has a pungent odor. Did you smell anything?

I agree. This was most likely your issue.

No we didn't smell anything at all. Thanks for the info.I'll assume it was the cleaners unless it goes off again now. And the wife was spraying lysol everywhere and cleaning.

Hairspray sets them off, some cleaners. We have had this happen, if you can associate why it went off to something then you are probably fine.

Propane has a distinct odor on purpose it is injected into it because the gas is naturally odorless and sinks to the floor.

A true story. I stepped onto the step of our MH and my wife said from inside loudly "I smell gas"! So did I. I turned quickly and went to the propane tank and shut it off. As I did a friend was right behind me and I ask him if he would go inside and check it out (former Fireman). As I approached the door after shutting down the propane my friend came out and said with a grin "you guys are having broccoli tonight"!
