propane powered generator won't stay running

"onan 6500 won't start from inside so went to generator compartment pushed start button it would start until I released button then die
any suggestions we just filled propane tank"

Somewhere in the propane line there maybe a filter. We had one in a propane forklift. It needed to be blown out at least once a year. Propane is not as clean as people think!!

Propane powered generator

A couple of things come to mind, first thing-there is a plastic fuse holder just above the manual start button, check the fuse.

Second you said that you just had the tank filled, sometimes the fuel jockey well shut off the esd for generator propane.

I have had the same issues before and these suggestions worked for me.

This is a very, very common problem.

If the generator only runs when the start switch is held it could mean there's a problem in the generator side of things. There has to be AC output for the generator to keep running.
