Propane tank on Class A safety valve????
I have a 99 Pace Arrow with an Atwood furnace 8535 IV-DCLP. The furnaces won't light because the safety valve right after the regulator is closed. I checked it electrically and one side is grounded and the other nothing. If I power it up it opens and the furnace lights. Does anyone have any idea about this setup?
And I'm new here so you can haze me later.

ON the inside of your coach you will find a panel that controls that valve. It will be down low, along the baseboards in the area of the kitchen possible under the refer, around the heater, or the stove. It will have a switch on it and maybe a light. This is a gas detector/sniffer that will shut the gas off if it senses vapor. The switch has to be in the on position which will then let the valve on the tank open.
You might have accidentally turned the switch off.

Gary, just so you understand that is a safety device they will shut off the gas supply if it sniffs gas in the motorhome. You now know that part of it works. I check mine with a propane torch. I do not light the torch but turn it on and let some gas go into the sniffer section of the panel to make sure it shuts off the gas. This is important since you have seven kids. The other thing since this is new to you is to make sure all the kids know about the emergency exits through the windows with red levers. You should show the ones old enough how to pull the levers and swing the windows out and be able to jump out. There should be one emergency escape window forward and one in the bedroom. It is OK to pull the levers the windows will not fall out and they can be locked again. Anyway I have never seen one fall out.

Gary, I just recently upgraded from a 99 pace arrow (it was a great first coach btw)
My CO detector in there would get an attitude about every time I hit the disconnectes to switch off the power in storage. When I switched the power back on, it would not reset properly.
It bacame part of my "startup routine" I'd go to the storage facility, hit the power switches in the cabinet above the door, walk over to the fridge and switch the CO detector off then on....
It should beep 10 times or so... then it is happy.

Thanks for the info Mike. I was aware that it had the detector but for some odd reason I never suspected as that being the problem. I appreciate your advice on the emergency exits and I will definitely make an "event" to go through the entire motorhome to show everyone exactly how to operate the windows. I appreciate your help.
