Pros & Con of Stabilizer Jack under extended Slideouts
I have had my 2006 Holiday Rambler Vacationer for less than a year.
I am considering putting stabilizing jacks under the extended slideout for the living area. Are there any draw backs or concerns with doing this? I already put the leveler jacks down and there still is a decent amount of "wobble" in the unit.

Don't do it.
If you prop up the slide-outs and the coach shifts in any way, the jacks under the slides can tear the slide-out off the rig.

Did the RV MFG supply slide-out jacks/supports?--------NO they do NOT because slide-outs are 'Self Supporting' when extended
If they were needed RV MFG would supply them OEM cause of warranty concerns...but they don't
And as posted.....if rig shifts slide-out supports can put undue upward pressure/forces on side-outs causing damage
Wobble/bounce etc is due to RV suspension and tires. Need to place jacks under frame forward or rearward of tires/suspension to stop that movement.
NOT under the slide-outs
Remember --------just because an item is sold via aftermarket doesn't mean it is good, necessary or useful. Just something for vendors to make $$$ with
Slide-out jacks/supports, anode rods for Atwood water heaters are a couple of those items.

As stated above, unless you have a burning need to dispose of some money to repair your slideout, don't do it.

Should the RV shift, slide damage can result if jacked. For example, after a day of rain and parked on not so well drained gravel site, my right rear leveler has sunk a couple inches from when setup yesterday.

Are your slides going all the way out? If not completely out that may cause movement. When ours are out they are very solid, just like a part of the main body. Oh wait, they are a part of the main body!!!
Have someone watch from the outside while you jump around or do whatever is causing the movement. Maybe they will spot the problem.
Good Luck.

One thing I have found that helps with stabilization is to first use the automatic leveling, then extend the front and rear jacks just a little more to put more weight on the jacks. It does lessen the movement somewhat, but a little "wobble" when someone walks through is normal in just about every motor home I have ever been in.

Guessing the original poster got the flyer or saw the ad from Camping World where slide out supports are on sale. Was thinking of those myself, but thanks to all the smart folks here on IRV2, I think I'll pass.

It really doesn't take much os a shift to "rack" the slide. Then you'll really have a mess on your hands. Don't do it.

My previous 5th wheel's owners manual had a warning in bold print to not use any type of slide support.

If you have four jacks and your unit still wobbles, your jacks are not properly down. Extend them a little more to pick up some more weight. There's no need for an RV to shake.
Been FT 5 years in a 31K Lb DS. Only shakes are when there's settling in somewhat soft ground, and that's rare. A set of good robust jack pads may help you.
