Can any of you guys give me any pros and cons with the Alfa RV's i am looking at the SeeYa and the Gold

As I understand it - they took a cookie cutter approach - two models very few options - as you probably know they are no longer in business. Service may be the biggest obstical that I can see - other than that I have not heard anything really negetive about them.

I have seen a lot of them and know people who have them. MY impression---they seem to have packed a lot in for the price. Basement entertainment packages, matching dish ware in some models stuff like that.

Also with an ALPHA you will not be any different than us National owners. The chasis, running gear and electrical,propane system, heater, TV's, furnace, water heater, fridge etc; are all common products with parts available.

I do not hear complaints about ALPHAS---but then I am not out asjking for comment either----mostly people say they like their rig.

Body parts may be a different issue---so you may want to find out what other ALPHA folks think----there may be an "elephant burial ground for ALPHA body parts" like there is for National.

Why don't you google and see if you can find an ALPHA club and see what they say?

If I were in the market for a MH I do not think I would run away from an ALPHA----just try to pick the best deal overall is what I think I would do. I would think you can get a very good price on one.

Pros:
They are cheap

Cons:
They are cheap
They are an orphan coach
They put in a lot of foo foo stuff such as extra TVs, dust buster, etc
The batteries are up n the front, hard to get to.
All of them look alike
Not a lot of exterior stowage space

My sister and BIL have a 38 foot 02 See Ya with 40,000 miles on it traveling in the Rockies from C S and have had great service out of the coach. It has a Cat 330 HP and no problem with it or the coach worth talking about.

Some time back on IRV2 forums it was stated there were problems with "de-lam" on the Alfa coaches. Not sure what years were having the most trouble.

De-lamination is just one of those things that could effect anyone's RV from pop-ups to top of the line pushers....and once it starts is hard to repair. Just comes down to inspecting a unit very closely before buying it. And once you own it, keep any eye out for any water intrusion.

I was looking at an alfa when we bought our coach. Best thing to do is talk to a reputable RV service center. See what they would recommend. I checked with a few and they said that they would stay away from Alfas. One reason was a delam problem. And another reason was a problem with the slides.

Downside:
Company out of business---no support
Fiberglass problems---no support

Upside:
I looked at one and thought it had several "neat" things going for it.
Went thru one at a dealership that was soon sold. Returned to the business and a new salesman said "some people like them". That was enough for me.
