Pros and cons of balancing rear dual tires

I'm purchasing new Mitchlin tires in a few days for the rear of my motor home (4 rear tires). Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of balancing these tires. I've been told that only the steer tires need balancing. Looking for your replies, thanks.

Hah! Read through the thread I've linked below, it looks as if some experts say "not necessary" but some owners insist on doing it. Some say it took away a "shake" and some said it doesn't feel any different having them balanced ...go figure.

When I had new tires (6) put on my former MH, I had Balancing beads put in all six. It did seem to smooth out some shakiness above 50 mph but that may have been from new tires even with out balancing. I don't know what it would cost to put new tires on, test drive and then have the beds added later but don't think that would be cost effective.

Never had my rears balanced nor use any other type of balancer. Even at 90+ I don't notice any extra shaking.

I don't think I would want to test the tires at 90+. They are only rated for 75 (at least most RV tires)

Cons --- none except a slight cost.

I've never used beads, only weights.

Just like when buying tires for your auto balancing is not a question,it is just done. I once had 3 out of 4 goodyear wranglers brand new off the shelf that were so bad and would not balance that he sent all 3 back. The dealer balanced my new michlin's without question when I bought them 2 years ago. I don't believe I have ever seen a perfectly balanced tire without weight on it, It is hard today to see them on the inside of the rim.

If it goes round and round, it needs to be balanced. No sense in shaking the rear suspension and putting undue stress on the parts.

If the tires on there now are balanced then balance, if not then make your choice to balance or not, if you are the least bit worried about it balance them, tires are expensive balancing not so much and it can't hurt.

Tires and wheels only need balencing when they are out of balence, but there is only one way to find that out.

The cost to balance the tires is a small percentage of the cost of the tires. Do it.

What if it does make a difference in the ride of the MH? You will be kicking yourself if you don,t do it and there is a shake or vibration.
