My vote is for the booth. Perfect for us and the two grand kids. Plus storage.

We've had both. While the booth did provide additional storage, it was too small for an adult to sleep on and too tight when having four adults for dinner. The standalone table we have now can be pulled out for more room when needed. Sitting four around the table is as comfortable as being home. We also play cards with friends and the table works great. In a booth you have to sit at an angle to try to play. The downside to the table and chair is that friends always want to eat and play at our MH instead of theirs.

Our present coach has the table & chairs. Our previous rigs had the booths. Neither were comfortable. We are quite happy with the table & chairs. Go look at different rigs. Sit in the dining area. Are you people who would eat meals at the table? Ultimately you will need to determine your needs & what you want. For us, we like the table. It gets used much more. I like that it can be moved - makes it easier for use for entertaining. There are times you have to be inside the rig - the weather just won't let you be out at the campfire or around the picnic table so it's nice to have comfortable options inside.

I could be wrong, but it looks like "number of travelers/guests" is the deciding factor. if it's primarily 2 people inside the RV, a table is preferable. I think that's probably true in a S + B home also. As our family has changed, so have the requirements.

All of our previous campers, 5ers, and coaches have had a dinette booth that were tight and uncomfortable until now. Our present coaches booth is as comfy and roomy as can be and I will sit there over the couch!! It's a matter of just what's best for you!!

We have had a traditional booth where "two" could sit on each side of the table, and now we enjoy a wrap-around booth like what Dawgs posted above. We are a family of 4.. Nobody is big in our family, and yet we still struggled to fit the 4 of us (plus dinner plates) on the first booth, thus my "two" above in quotes. We really like the wrap-around booth now, though the table itself is still a bit on the small side for 4 plates, cups, and a bowl or two to pass. I still tend to sit in my captain's chair for dinner. I love the looks of the freestanding table and chairs, and some day we may migrate to that, but only if we are still RVing when the kids are grown and not with us. For now.. family of 4 needs a booth.

I'm not sure I follow your logic. I agree that booths seat two comfortably, but stand alone tables seat 4 adults comfortably, so why wouldn't a family of 4 want a table?

You may be right about that. I've only seen two-seat stand-alone tables and chairs. Admittedly, I pay MOST attention to the bunkhouse models, 'cause that's how we roll. But I suppose there are great 4-seat options in the freestanding option as well that would be worth considering.

We've had table and chairs in our last 3 RV's. DW's sister had a booth in their coach and are in the process of converting it to a table / chairs and buffet. They liked our setup.
With today's medical availability of replacement joints, I curious if those with hip replacements can schootch in to a booth?

We don't have slides, so the table and chair arrangement gives us more floorspace. If there were more people using the coach than just the wife and myself, it might not be enough.
