SimpleTires got me the date codes before I paid, and before they shipped. Guess they might be getting too big for their britches. And they beat my locals by 20% on the same tire.
That's why I'm here. "To tell my friends" and will probably post on RVNet too. I'm not saying this will be everybody's problem because my tire size is not very popular. Even my local dealer was closer on born date but still 9 mons out. They were only $4 more per tire too so price is not an issue. I thought they would have later codes due to volume.

I am a member of FMCA and have been for 9 years. I have had Michelin and G670s on my previous coach and really have nothing bad to say except for their exhorbatant prices. I currently have Kelly Tires and love em but cant get KSE's here in the west. They are date codes around 4009 so I have a little time left to find the Hankooks. Thanks for the obsevations.
Rich

You might heck with your dealer on if they have BF Goodrich ST230's available. FMCA covers these, as they're mad by Michelin. And they're a good tire. My local Michelin dealer had some in stock, but the were over a year old. They tried to get more dates from the main warehouse, but they would not provide them. With the 12R being a low demand tire size, and with 6 of them already in his stock, he did not think it would be good business for him to order 6 in from the warehouse, just to see what the date was.

You may get lucky@!

And note, for my coach, I could very safely change the size to 295/80's, which this great local dealer had 6 of in stock with 0416 born on dates. So that is another that might work for you too.

Best of luck,
Smitty

Pretty sure Discount Tire Co. (America's Tire in parts of CA, OR and WA) can get and will be competitive (beat any legit price) on 22.5's. I know that is where the PO of my coach got the Michelins two years ago. They will not mount them anymore however.

Thanks Smitty but I'm not sure of the 295/80s so will do more research. The original tire from the factory was 275/80 and the 295/75 was nearly identical. I have had two sets of BF Goodrich for my tow vehicles in the past. Both sets were bought from Sams Club as a "Commercial" tire and both sets failed. After the first failure on my Suburban (belt broke inside tire) I can't believe I bought them again for my Chevy Truck. The steel literally came thru the tread and wouldn't balance on one tire with that vehicle. I will not buy the BF Goodrich brand after two tries. They may not be the same tire but doesn't matter to me. I'll check on the 80s. Thanks again.

Thanks Oilbrnr but I did call Discount tire because they have a store in my town. They no longer handle 22.5 inch tires according to the person I talked to.

Don't know if your interested in any of these tires. I believe World of Tires is an IRV2 sponsor. Their price includes FET and shipping.

He offerred me a set of Yokohama RY023 for $2660 installed. Very tempting but still date codes 6 months out. I might have to bite the bullet but still have some time before the situation gets urgent. Thanks Chuck
