I'm looking at 2008 to 2010 Tiffin Phaetons. When considering the purchase of this coach is it better that the owners are full time RVing in the coach, therefore living in it, and putting 10,000 + miles on it per year or should I consider the coaches that are only being used for recreational trips and have less miles, 10,000/15,000 total miles on them. Or does it even matter?

With a coach that new, I'd prefer one that saw limited recreational use. The miles aren't really the issue, but the wear and tear. I'd also prefer a lightly used model to a dealers parking lot queen.

We bought our '08 Monaco in 2011, 15k miles and virtually brand new, no visible wear at all.

I don't think it matters, as long as it has been cared for.

As an RV tech, I see lots of problems caused by sitting idle. I would prefer one that has been regularly used but obviously not "misused". As for chassis mileage, I doubt RV'ers would ever wear out a well maintained DP with air brakes. Age may take a toll on tires, air springs, etc.

FWIW, some of our worst electrical nightmares have been Phaetons.

Go to rv.org pay what they're asking and read all their material and then look at their ratings. It will be the best money you spent on buying an rv.Then go to oodle.com (free) to find what you're looking for. It will be the best money you spent on buying an rv.

Plus, purchasing a coach that's had full timers in it means that every system has been thoroughly run and checked out. May find (and fix) problems that wouldn't be uncovered under "occasional" use.
