Purchasing a Used RV

I am in the market for a used RV. I find much information on this site but what I am looking for is a check list. One that I can use so I do not buy a lemon. I have not decided if I want Gas of Diesel so a check list for both would be welcome. Also a question, is better to buy from a dealer or an individual. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately there are no quick easy answers to your questions. This forum is also searchable. Many of us do a lot of reading.
This CG site has a lot of info. regarding much of your possible research.
RV Checklists
The whole Gas VS Diesel algorithm is another topic you'll need to weigh as no two persons have the same requirements or budgets.
You might wish to enlist or even employ the help of a RV surveyor that is experienced in the particular style, make, and models you hone in on. Seemingly expensive fees can pay for themselves VS costly hidden system repairs etc.
Buyer Beware are your marching orders in the this hobby, past time.
Best of luck.

The problem is the amount of time it would take to check everything that should be checked. I bought my class A motorhome about 7 months ago, and would describe it as being in very good shape for its age, I spent at least a couple of hours a day crawling under and through it everyday for the first month I owned it and managed to find numerous issues that needed repair / correction, even now 7 months later I am still finding things that might have been caught on an initial inspection if one were to have looked at the right place. For example just this last week I found an exposed hot 12V positive wire that is connected to the alternator that likely dates back to the initial motorhome conversion 16 years ago which should have been capped off, but looks like it was missed.
