Pusher Mileage

Considering a 38 to 40 foot Diesel Pusher. Right now I have a 33 foot 2015 Fleetwood Terra SE gasser. I get between six and eight miles to the gallon on a good day and was wondering what the mileage is like on the pushers

We have a 34" DP I've seen up to 19 MPG on flat with no wind with the mode button active. 10 - 15 is more common on hils especially when towing. I have been very happy since I don't need to fill up nearly as often with the DP vs gas.

Always a tough question to answer. Are you a lead foot or granny going to church? Do you drive in the mountains or the flatlands? Stop and go or all expressway? Those are some of the biggest variables in mileage. Consistently top 70 MPH and your mileage will drop pretty fast. Stay under 65 and you'll do well.

For us with a 40 foot bunk house we are averaging overall around 8.5. We do a bit of all different types of driving and we will use the generator while driving.

I've had my DP for 7 years and the mileage has been very consistent. Between 7.2-7.8 mpg. a little less in mountains.

We got 6.5, 6 when towing the dolly with our 36 ft Tiffin gasser. We average 7-7.5 with our 40' DP, 50% heavier!

In a newer (since 2014) coach with an ISB 340/360 you can reasonably plan on 9 mpg and with attention do better.

"19 MPG" on diesel pusher???????? Hmmmm, I must be doing something SERIOUSLY WRONG then. If we try real hard, on flat ground, at 60 MPH, with a tail wind or not, I might, MIGHT see 7.5 mpg. Otherwise, our '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, pretty much hovers around 6.5 - 7.0. And, the "mode" button has never, EVER made any difference in any of our driving, in 5+ years of ownership, and over 30K miles.

Lifetime on 43 ft Diplomat with Maxforce 20 is 8.2. Does not seem to matter if towing Equinox or not

I have kept complete fuel records since I bought the coach (2009) and the average over that time period is 8.6 MPG. This over 53,000 miles.
