Question about Attwood Levelers

I have a question about the automatic leveling feature. I have a 2006 Allegro Bay. If I pull into my driveway (slight slope to the left) and get my coach leveled manually, it appears that I can store the exact position in the system. If I pull into another spot in my other driveway which slopes slightly in the opposite direction, does the automatic feature extend the legs the same exact amount ( which would be way off) or does it automatically read the slope and make necessary adjustments on it own. I have experimented and maybe I just do not know what I am doing.

In other words..."how does it know"?

Also, with the large foot that each leveler has, do I need jack pads?
If so, what kind is best? Some time I park on concrete and sometimes, I may park in grass, gravel, or even dirt. Will a piece of 2x12 pressure treated lumber do?

thanks folks...I am new at this and I hope that this is not too dumb of a question.

thanks again, Leo

Our Atwood levelers have a procedure that you follow to 'teach' the system where level is. Should be in your manual. Essentially it consists of parking on a level surface, running the levelers to the ground and then telling the controller 'this is level, remember it'.
