Question about "steer safe"
Hello all! I have a 2003 National Sea Breeze 8311 LX that I am planning to install a steer safe onto. I was reading the PDF installation instructions and these mentioned a right and left hand installation. My question is, for those of you who use this product, do you need to intall one on each side, or is just one side enough? Thanks.

Also, does the product come as a set of two, one for each side? I looked on Camping World and it just said quantity "1", couldn't find any other details. Thanks.

They come as a set. You will have a unit on both sides. The price is for a complete kit.

Be REAL careful installing it. A professional truck company installed mine and I hit a few big bumps in PA and BOTH units exploded sending springs everywhere and jammed the left side mount into my brake plate stopping me from turning left. I know a lot of people have had good luck with them and while it did help me control the coach better when it worked I wouldn't buy it again. I'd look into a Safety Steer unit....

I'm looking at the Blue Ox TruCenter steering control also, I like the fact that it is adjustable from the coach. I do want the added safety in case of front tire blowout, but my major concern is help to minimize the wandering caused by road ruts. Does anyone have experience with this product, and does it help with road rut wandering? Thanks.

I just put them on my Fleetwood (P30 Chassis) and you could definitely tell a difference. A much tighter feel. You may have to adjust it a little, mine had a tiny drift to the right and I needed to make an adjustment on the spring tensions. It's listed in the directions how to do it, it's very simple.

I had the Safe T Plus installed and it helped 99%. Easy steering in cross wind and big rig air flow. Didn't hurt regular steering or turning.

I am very happy with the Steer Safe, although the instructions they give you look like they were put together by a 5 year old and then Xeroxed about 50 times.
That said, I can now drive our coach without a death grip on the steering wheel and barely feel passing trucks and cross winds. I would definitely buy again.
