Question RE: Torque Values on Koni Shocks
I have a 2011 Tiffin Open Road 34TGA on an F53 Ford chassis weighing 22,000 pounds. I'm going to install Koni Shocks (front and Rear) but I don't know what torque values to use on the nuts. Does anyone know what torque values I should use? Thanks a bunch.

You could call Koni - I'm sure they have a Customer Service or Technical Support line.
Or use the standard SAE bolt Torque Chart.

Thanks, Mike. I checked with Tech Support at Koni and they said,
"The torque spec is based on the size and thread pitch of the attachment hardware (bolts and nuts) used, and unfortunately we don’t have that information as the brand of shock does not change that spec. For factory torque specification consult either the service manual for your particular coach, or a Ford Service Center should be able to look that spec up."
Appreciate the chart and the response. I was hoping that someone had experienced this type of install on a similar coach.

I wouldn’t do work like this without the applicable factory shop manual.

Shock mounting hardware torque is from the chassis manufacturer not shock manufacturer.
The torque Randalpho posted is correct for F53 chassis.

That 250# figure Randalpho mentioned above sounds right. All I remember is I think I left marks in my shorts trying to squeeze it out with the torque wrench under there and some of the positions you are in to make the wrench fit. Good luck.

Yeah I try to position the torque wrench so that I can use my weight and "Hang" from the torque wrench. The brake caliper anchor plate bolts which are 295 lb-ft are even more fun to squeeze out.
