Question regarding Manufacturers???

Does anyone have any current information regarding the manufacturers of Class A motorhomes that were bought by other manufacturers during the past years of turnover?

Trying to follow the who now owns which previous brand.

Or if there is a site we may check for this info.

Thanks for any info

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

You might want to ask about any you're thinking about and you'll get specific answers.

I'll take a shot at the motorhome brands. The trailer situation is really fuzzy, with some companies having partial design rights or use of a brand name only.

Allied Recreational Vehicle (sub of Allied Specialty Vehicles) owns the Fleetwood, American Coach, Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Beaver and Safari brands.

Forest River owns the Coachman brand as well as their own several brands of coaches and trailers, and Coachman owns the old Georgie Boy brands (the Pursuit is still in production).

Thor RV owns the Thor Motor Coach brand which is Damon, Four Winds, and Chateau as well as the remains of their old Mandalay Luxury Coach brand. The Damon brand was dropped but the models continued include Daybreak, Challenger Outlaw, Windsport, Avanti, Astoria and Tuscany.

Gulfstream Coach has not added or lost any brand names, but I do not believe any of their Class A or C coaches are in production any longer. 2012 was the last year for Gulfstream Coach. They remain a trailer manufacturer.

Jayco bought the Travel Supreme brand rights and factory and remodelengineered it into their Entegra Motorcoach brand.

Newell is unchanged, as is Foretravel. Several companies still produce their Prevost conversion coaches too, e.g. Marathon.

To expand somewhat on what Gary had posted. Forest River manufacturers the Berkshire and Charleston brands of Class A's. The company was in tough straits when they were bought up by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway.

Tiffin remains unchanged, Newmar stopped making their 5th wheel trailer products, and WBGO resumed making towables. Apparently nobody has resumed manufacturing the former Country Coach brand. Likewise for the WRV brand known as Alpine. Alfa "see ya" is gone too. Gary is correct about Jayco buying TS out of BK, but they moved Entegra production to Middlebury pretty quickly after contamination was discovered at the TS facilities near Elkhart. Nexus is a totally new brand from a new "start up" company owned by long time industry players.

Country Coach IP and brand was bought out of bankruptcy by Ron Lee (with CC in the early days). Ron has restarted CC service and parts with original designs/information and is also building a prototype coach for marketing a restart to CC production.

That is excellent news, I wish him much success. I know he purchased the assets some time ago and has been busy with service and parts, but have not heard a time frame for a coach build. Any info on "when" we may see a NEW CC again?

As I understand it the prototype is finished and being tested/driven now. You can go to the CC website for more info.
