To day I installed a mp8. On my cat c7. And clean an detail motor. Found out that at 23,000 miles my 07 bounder the radiator was completely stopped up. So. What's the best way to clean this is there a cleaner that works. Radiator is in the rear so hard to get to but I'm sure I'll get it. Any suggestion ??

Rear radiators are difficult to get at, you just have to work at it from both sides inside and out. I use simple green and a spray bottle let it set then hose with a sprayer continue until clean(be carefull about bending the fins). Others spray the radiator down the crank the engine and let the fan help push the cleaner and water through the radiator makes a mess but works. Some folks us dawn dish soap, gunk engine cleaner just make sure they are safe for aluminum. You may also want to look in between the Charge air cooler and radaitor for and leaves paper and so on that may be stuck in there. The big thing is to make sure you rinse with lots of clear water. You can also extend you engines crankcase vent tube to the rear of the coach to help keep from getting the oil mist in the rad.

As stated people use a lot of different things results very short of taking it all out
and having it cleaned.
This is what I have found works and is safe on aluminum as well as paint ect.
Purchase a pump up weed sprayer
Purchase Simple Green PRO HD ( purple in color) 2 or 3 gallons needed
it is safe to use on aircraft and other aluminum or plastic surfaces.
I mix it at 1 to 1 with water and find that works best for the first cleaning.
First wet down everything you are going to clean with a low pressure water hose
both inside and outside as well as the coolers.
Take your weed sprayer with the Simple green and water mix and soak both sides
of the radiator as well as spraying it into the fins.
Make sure you soak the corners and sides well from both sides.
Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes then flush with low pressure water.
Repeat several times until you are getting clear water when you flush.
I do not have the engine running as you do not want the simple green to dry but
on the last cleaning I soak both sides and force it into the fins then start the engine
(Make sure nothing you care about it behind the MH ) and then flush with water
until clear while the engine is running.
Make sure you clean the air and transmission coolers well.
You will find this is one messy job and takes time to do it well.
Make sure you use the Pro HD simple green as it is designed to be safe on
aluminum.

Radiator

The info entered is very good,I would suggest that you blow the radiator out with air first.I used my air gun with 12" plastic tygon hose on it so I could direct the air better. I have a side radiator and had no signs of oil.You would not believe how much dust, grass and pebbles came out. Then I sprayed it with simple green, used the blower side of my shop vac to gently blow it through the coils. Then let it set for 30 min then I washed it out with a water spray nozzle. Then I started it up and washed it out again.
I would also suggest if you are still having over heating problems, the freightliner service can check the fan speed, There is a program to do this. In my case the fan ran good until 2000 RPM then the fan started loosing RPM's.They replaced the fan pump and the fan. NOT CHEEP
