Re-route Furnace Duct From Sofa To Floor

New sofa does not have a cutout for the furnace duct like the old one did.

I need to put in a floor register for the new duct. Right now it would just blow hot air underneath the new sofa.

I can't cut a hole in the new sofa like the old one, or rather, won't. The bed mechanism also prevents that, not just me not wanting to ruin the new sofa trying to put a vent in it.

I want the register to be as far forward as possible, too bad I cant run it between the co-pilot chair and the sofa, but clearance for the duct underneath I think would be an issue. Right now the sofa and the area right in front of it is all open and easy access from the bay underneath....

So I guess best bet is a floor register. Right?

Thoughts?

I appreciate insight here folks. Thanks!

I have no clue what size that duct is, it looks like a dryer duct.....

Good luck. You need to get into the subfloor and look for wires before you cut.

Not sure if this would help but I just bought a de-fuser from Home Depot that has a magnet on both sides of the de-fuser. You can have it angle like at a 90 degree. We have a register under one of the barrel chairs in the living area. What a dome place to put it. Like yours it blows up under the chair. but not anymore.

Do you have a picture of link of it?

Thanks!

I just installed mine tonight and works great now air is directed under skirt of chair. I looked @ Home Depot web site just now and here goes, click on Heating & Cooling on that page look to right and scroll down the first page about 1/2 way and you will see one. $3.98 plus tax.Try this http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImages/300/71/71d2ca8f-809e-43ce-922a-74fd508cb3d8_300.jpg

Yes this works it will show the box it comes in.

Transition Assembly Needed

The ducting comes out of the floor looks like dryer vent duct.

I need to transition the dryer vent duct to an rectangular assembly, there is about a 2.5" x 15" gap in the left and right arms of the new sofa on the floor where I could run the dryer vent to the arm, then just blow it out the rectangular transition would be perfect.

But I've been searching and can't find anything like that.

I see dryer vent ducting transitions, but nothing I could take from a round tube to a rectangular floor register.

What am I missing?
