Rear end failure

Hi,
I have an 06 Monaco Knight with a dynasty rear end, my rear end needs to be replaced the metal plate has the following information:

Dynasty 00430 HN02023927 0653121 508519 190605

I thought I was having trouble with the driver's side front tire, heard a thump, but it was probably the differential going out, took the Tech's 7 hours to remove the rear end, the bolts on the housing seized up I am not sure if it will be rebuilt or a new one, if anyone can give some additional help, I would greatly appreciate it. Also need to know a price range, I think my extended warranty will cover it since it is a major component.

I really don't know much about your differential, but ours had a whine when we got it at 102K miles. It finally went out, and we got lucky and found a shop that could help us. Took about four days and 4300 bucks, but we got back on the road.

They are supposed to go 750+K miles, but you never know.

Good luck

Tom

There are several salvage yards around. They may have a good used one available.

Do you have the data sheet for your rig, contact Monaco if you don't and get a copy.

My data sheet has the manufacturer, model and SN of the axles and also shows the differential SN. Mine are Eaton axles, there is also a stamped name tag riveted to each axle. Eatons are common axles and you should be able to get parts.

Could also check a slavage yard. Visione Auto Mart in KY has lots of Monaco parts.

I just turned over 105K miles on mine. I changed the gear oil last year, changed to a synthetic oil, cost $150.

How in the hell does a rear end go out in a Coach?? 753,000 miles dragging Heavy Equipment around, up, down...no issues and very little "mud" on the magnet at last change (750,000)??

I had a rear end go out on my 2002 Diplomat. I turned it in under the extended warranty. The warranty company required proof of the oil changes in the dif per the Roadmaster manual.

Just a warning to get paperwork proper before turning it in. The local Freightliner dealer did the repair and handled the warranty.

rear end

I am thankful to cornerstone, they covered the repair, the differential had to be built, will take 5 -7 days to build and it ships from Kentucky

If memory serves me correctly the book on mine calls for differential fluid change every year. Seems excessive but it's not all that hard or expensive.
