rear engine gas

Hello, I am looking for information on rear engine gas rigs. I have seen a few, but have not talked to anyone that has owned one. I have a 36' ford v10 gas now. I am trying to decide on a dp or another gas . It seems the rear gas has a lot of features that the dp has, like air bags, air breaks, no dog house up front etc, but not the expence and upkeep of a diesel. We don't put many miles on a year so can't justify the expence of a dp. Any one owned one? What are the pros and cons. The seemed to be popular around 2008 to 2010. Is there any manufacturer still building them today? Thanks for any info.

We own a Workhorse UFO (rear gas engine) and love it. No air bags or air brakes on mine, I don't think they were available. Ours handles very well and I would buy again if they still made them.

No air bags
no air brakes
= no thanks

there is a difference between a camper unit and a coach

just saying

what does one want ?

A coach or a camper unit

either is fine it is just a choice of what one is looking for

I do not know of ANY rear gas chassis that provides "air bags, air breaks".

The Workhorse R-26 "UFO" is the only modern day rear gas chassis, but as others have posted, the UFO did not provide air ride or brakes. It did offer a totally flat floor, without a "dog house".......

The UFO is no longer being built.
