When I purchased my coach I did not have the lower ladder section I recently purchased one and I'm puzzled how to secure it to the top ladder. does it just hang from it when you travel?

No, you store it one of your bays. It is not meant to be hanging outside when travelling.

Store it in your storage bays or somewhere convenient.

I don't carry the lower part of the ladder. I use my folding step ladder, used for cleaning windshield and stuff, to access the upper attached ladder when I get up on the roof.

Same here. I carry a standard 6' aluminum ladder It can reach the upper part of the attached ladder and do everything else for which a ladder is needed. I leave the OEM extension at home.

Ok thanks for the suggestion I just thought there was a way to attach it on the back ladder cuz I hate to use my cargo space for that

I raise mine on the top step and use two strong Velcro straps to keep it in place. Works well.

I remember reading a post from someone a year or two ago that they keep their lower ladder either under the bed or in the rear closet (I can't remember). That way, they have a "graceful" fire escape by hanging it out the emergency window... time permitting.

I do the same as krivanj. Has stayed there securely for the past year so far. I didn't want to give up any storage space in a bin.

I tie both the step ladder and the extension to the rear fixed ladder.

I said tie, using good rope, good knots and noooo bungee cords.

(I also ride motorcycles and seeing bicycles ,ladders etc. secured by bungee cords to the vehicle in front of me gives me the creeps)

I forgot to mention that I have a hanger that holds my stepladder on the fixed ladder plus being tied.

To answer your question I see a lot of people let theirs hang from the top step and secure it from the bottom.
