Rear View Monitoring System

I have a 1996 National Dolphin with a AudioVox AOS 22 monitoring system. When the camera is mounted in it's normal position the TV blinks. Remove the camera and a perfect picture. I have removed and mounted it several times, cleaned it, checked all contacts and remounted it and it blinks. You have a picture but it blinks. Also is the cable that runs from the camera to the monitor compatable with other systems?

Just a guess, but maybe it has something to do with the camera grounding to the chassis of the coach. You say when you take it off it works good.
You could try isolating the camera by screwing a piece of wood to where you want the camera, then screwing the camera to the wood. Just make sure the camera bracket does not touch the mounting screws for the wood, and the screws used to mount the camera do not go all the way through the wood.
Might not fix anything, but all it will cost you is some time to try.

As far as being compatible with other systems, I'd check on anything added since production. Examples: wireless thermometers, remote A/C - thermostats,, GPS, Cell phones, I-Pods, and so on. Does engine running - not running have any influence? Any electronics inside that are close to camera or wire? Condition of the wire close to camera? I've herd of a ScanGauge II causing the screen to roll. Good luck
