I received the second notice on this recall today. I have checked every Ford dealer in 50 miles and none have the part. Called Ford customer service, they now say repair will not be available until January 2008. They of course want you to disconnect CC and forget about it until they get off their duffs. Has any one tried their own (home made), by-pass on this problem with a fused wire?

CC is the Cruise Control.
We had ours installed on our Ford Explorer. They didn't have the fused wiring harness when we first took it in so they disconnected the wiring plug for it. It took two weeks for them to get it and it was done last week.
Seems Ford has run short of the needed fused wiring harness and the ones that the dealer disconnects get moved to the top of the list when they are available.
It takes the dealer about two minutes to install the fused harness, just plugs in. I would take it to the dealer and let them disconnect it and it will place you at the top of the list. According to my local dealer, the next shipment will be near the first of November.

I am sorry. "CC", is an abreviation for "Cruise Control".
