Recommended LED bulb for turn signals

Hi there everyone,

I'm looking at replacing the 1157 bulbs in the turn signals with LED's in our 2003 Allegro bus. I'm wondering if anyone has done this and if they had any problems with them not flashing correctly because of the decreased draw in current. Has anyone had that problem and identified a proper replacement that keeps the blinking somewhat the same?

Thank you in advance for your input!

Safe travels!

Eric-

I usually buy LED bulbs and accessories from superbrightleds.com. Here is a link to the flashers they carry. One of them may match what's in your coach.

I used an LED flasher on my former coach, and it worked well.

Another fix for hyper-flashing is to wire in a resistor across the + & - in the turn signal circuit, to add enough load for the standard flasher to work properly.

Easiest, however, is to use an LED friendly flasher, like l1v3fr33ord1 said.

One other thing about LED replacement lights that I think doesn't get enough publicity - the colour of the LED must be the same as the lens; ie red or amber. Otherwise the light is too dim to be easily seen, especially in daylight. I found 3 watt bulbs to be brighter than incandescent and a worthwhile investment.

I changed signals to LED and found an electronic flasher for about $4.00 on Amazon. I also ordered two of them as the 4 way flashers needed one too.
