Red Flag?

I apologize for bringing this up again to anyone who saw a similar post awhile ago. I'm seeing brand new 2013 Monaco Knights for sale. Priced ok but not really a killer deal.

Why aren't these already sold? Are buyers nervous about a Navistar built Monaco? I know a RV is never an investment (haha), but if the demand isn't there now, will the the value plummet like crazy overnight?

Confused. Not really ready to buy yet . But I keep wondering about these. Or if a popular more popular brand is the way to go.

I think I know the answer but I would appreciate some thoughts from people with more experience.

Thanks!

If it has a Maxxforce engine, that would be the #1 reason for me. Do a google search and see if you can live with the problems.

That link confuses me more because most have posted positive opinions about the Maxxforce engine.

But the market seems to have spoken - I think? Is that why these rigs are still available - nobody wants them? The sales guy said it's not that uncommon to have leftover new rigs. But these are 2013. I haven't come across many brand new 2013 rigs of any brand looking at RVTrader.

Edit: I did a google search for Maxxforce. Class action lawsuit. Yikes, that isn't good.

Red Flag?

In a few words: folks prefer Cummins.
It doesn't mean the Maxxforce is not good. I had the one. Loved it

I like the Knight. But after reading about the multiple lawsuits regarding the engines, I'm not so eager to buy one. I don't want to knowingly make such a risky move. The engine may be ok, but it comes with controversy and a questionable history that I'm not ready to have to deal with, especially come resale time.

I've been aware of the lawsuits, but didn't read closely until today. Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

The problems were on the big engines, the MF13 & MF15. The MF7 and MF10 are used extensively in school buses and regional service. They made the enhanced EGR system work on those two engines but not on the big iron.

Might be the front & rear design. I personally don't care for it.
