refrigerator question????

My norcold 1200 give me a code of sr, couldn't even shut it down after the code I could only change the temp setting, but the fridge wasn't working, the only way to turn it off was to go out side to the lower service window and unpluge the wires for power and ground left it off for about ten minutes and pluged it back in and it as been working fine since then, does anyone know what this code means? Joe.

According to my Norcold 1200 series literature refers that have serial #'s of 832171 and higher the SR code is flame sense circuit failure. Older units do not flash ONLY SR. They will flash SR and two other letters alternately. So I am thinking your refer is showing a flame sense circuit failure. In that it restarted it's probably indicating that the burner and/or flame sensor needs cleaning. Or, it may just be a "ghost" problem that will not surface again. Take a look at the burner and flame sensor and clean as needed.
